Citroen have revealed the New C4 X model which they say features a unique and elegant design that incorporates fastback elegance with an SUV attitude, writes Trish Whelan .  Sizewise, the car will sit between the C4 and C5 X in the current Citroen line-up and will be available in Ireland in Q4 of this year exclusively as an all-electric model featuring a 50kWh battery pack, a 100kW electric motor that provides 136hp and 260 Nm torque. It will have a 0-100km/h time of 9.5 seconds and a 360km WLTP range.  The C4 X is built on the Stellantis CMP platform as is Citroen's current C4 sibling but gains 240mm in length and 130 litres of additional boot capacity over the current C4 to give a generous boot space of 510 litres.  The new car will feature Advanced Comfort Seats to ensure optimal comfort and offer up to 20 Citroen Advanced Driver Assistance Systems including Active Safety Brake and Highway Driver Assist. Citroen’s facelifted C5 Aircross SUV has undergone significant design enhancements which include a new more rugged design with a new front end, writes Trish Whelan .  The model has been the best-selling Citroen passenger car in Ireland since 2020, and will now be available with a choice of petrol, diesel and plug-in hybrid versions. The petrol will be a 1.2 PureTech 130hp engine paired to either a 6-speed manual or 8-speed automatic transmission; the diesel 1.5 130hp will also be matched to either of those while the Plug-in hybrid will have a 1.6 petrol engine paired to an 80kW electric motor to deliver 225hp (combined) with the possibility of driving up to 55km in full electric mode. Road tax is from €200 (diesel) to €270 (petrol) while the PHEV is €140.  A new 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system comes as standard from the second trim level. A facelift to the C5 Aircross SUV has just been revealed by Citroen which primps up the front and rear and offers more customisation, writes Brian Byrne . Inside, the driver gets a new 10" infotainment screen, and a redesigned main digital display. The seats have been improved with extra memory foam, there are changes to the seat trim, and there's also soft-touch Alcantara finish on the dashboard of some grades. Irish pricing and specification for the New C5 Aircross SUV will be announced in March with first vehicles expected to arrive on Irish shores in June.  

Citroen Ireland offered a preview to journalists this morning of two models which they plan to have with us in March of next year, writes Brian Byrne . The key one was a prototype version of the new C5 X D-segment car, a hatchback on a long wheelbase and with a very stylish look. A flagship car for the brand, it will be available at launch as a petrol and plug-in hybrid, and a fully electric version is due in 2023. Comfort will be the key selling point with a very quiet drive and the brand's Advanced Comfort suspension and seating. There was no drive opportunity, but the car will also come with all the driver assist safety and connectivity technologies that would be expected from a fully-equipped premium level car. The C5 X will be built in China, where the D-segment remains a very strong part of the car market, and which will give the model enough volume to be viable in Europe where the medium and large family car arena is now dominated by the SUV-crossover trend.
