Renault Group Ireland has appointed Kevin O’Leary Clonmel as the new Renault and Dacia main dealership for South Tipperary, writes Trish Whelan .  Kevin O’Leary Group is one of Ireland’s most established motor groups, founded in 1963, with dealerships in Bandon, Cork City and Clonmel. The dealership will have the full range of Renault and Dacia cars as well as Renault’s full van range. Renault’s Scenic Vision, an innovative concept car, brings the brand’s vision for a greener, safer and more inclusive future to live, writes Trish Whela n . It is powered by a one-of-a-kind hybrid - electric and hydrogen - propulsion system. The 40 kWh battery is recyclable and will be made in France by 2024 at the Renault ElectriCity Gigafactory. It has a 14kW fuel cell to recharge it during long drives and thus extend its range. Renault say in 2030 and beyond, it will be possible to drive up to 800km with the hydrogen tank able to be refilled in five minutes or less, once the network of hydrogen stations is large enough.  Its design and manufacture incorporate methods that the Renault Group and its brands will use to achieve carbon neutrality in Europe by 2040 and worldwide by 2050. Renault has finally revealed its new C-segment SUV, the Austral, after months of teasers, writes Brian Byrne . To replace the Kadjar, the Austral will join the Arkana and the new Megane E-Tech Electric in a revitalised lineup of key models. Powertrains will include mild-hybrid petrols in three options of power, a full-hybrid based on a 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol with a total output of 200hp. Other technologies will include the latest version of a 4-wheel steering system, and a full suite of the latest advanced driver assist innovations. Renault also promises a 'crowning jewel' of connectivity and entertainment abilities. More details when Irish arrival and specifications are revealed.

Newgate Motor Group has been appointed as the new Renault and Dacia Dealership in Co Meath, writes Trish Whelan .  The well-established dealership located on the Kells Road in Navan will have a dedicated showroom displaying the full Renault and Dacia car and van ranges as well as a choice of quality used models in a separate Renault Selection zone. Renault will be unveiling a new SUV in the spring of 2022, and last week revealed its name, Austral, writes Brian Byrne .  The 5-seater will be in the same C-segment as the recently launched Arkana and the Megane E-Tech electric car. It will replace the Kadjar. Renault's model-naming people say the Austral is deliberately related to Australia and the image of exploration.  

The new generation of the Renault Kangoo has won the International Van of the Year 2022 accolade, writes Brian Byrne . The LCV Business Unit of the Renault Group was presented with the award during the Solutrans trade fair held in Lyons, France, by Jarlath Sweeney, chairman of the International Van of the Year Jury. It's the fourth time that a Renault commercial vehicle has won the IVOTY award: Master (1998), Trafic (2002), and Kangoo Z.E. (2012).  

Renault has announced a fully electric version of its new Kangoo van, due to go on sale in European markets next spring, writes Brian Byrne . The vehicle will have a range of 299km, and with an appropriate charging station can recharge up to 107km in 30 minutes. The All-new Kangoo Van E-Tech electric has the same haulage and traction capacity as its ICE counterpart – storage volume up to 3.9m3, 600kg of payload, and 1,500kg of towing capacity.
